Communities all over the world celebrated World Labyrinth Day on Saturday, May 4, to promote peace in our lives and throughout the world. Wilson College observed the day by creating a temporary labyrinth on the campus green and hosting activities centered on the concept of the labyrinth, an ancient archetype of our journey through life. The labyrinth was made from stones painted by members of our community with words and images that speak to our hearts. The opening ceremony featured the Wilson College Choir, hand bell choir and members of Wilson’s Orchesis dance ensemble. The ceremony concluded with the formation of a human labyrinth at 1 p.m. to “Walk as One at One.” A candlelight labyrinth walk was held to round off the celebrations. “Labyrinth: build it: walk it: live it.”
